Sligo Airport, situated at Strandhill, have introduced direct flights from Sligo to Manchester Airport.

The flights, which commenced on May 29th 2007, have proven to be extrememly popular with visitors in both directions.

Welcoming the introduction of direct flights from Sligo to Manchester, Aer Arran Managing Director Padraig O Ceidigh said they were "looking forward to identifying further opportunities for growth from the airport in the near future".

A spokesperson for Sligo Airport said "the number of people using Sligo Airport has risen by over 54% in the past two years".
