Sligo Town on the Net was started in 2002 by a group of local Sligonians, as a personal crusade towards helping to promote Sligo Town as a possible holiday destination.
Whether this aim has been realised remains to be seen.
Sligo Town on the Net is a personal 'group' website, without any form of financial help from any tourist, government or other organisation, therefore we rely entirely upon paid advertising on the website to cover our costs.
Over the years we have received numerous compliments about the website, both verbal from Sligo's local inhabitants, via e-mail's from ex-pat's and from visitors to the website. If it wasn't for this encouragement we would have given up long ago.
