Public call to participate in the filming of “…for peace comes dropping slow” W.B. Yeats
Sligo Arts Service is calling on participants for this exciting and unique event, taking place at dusk near Sligo town.
The torchlight event by artist Lisa Vandegrift Davala involves sketching the poetic line in light from the poem The Lake Isle of Innisfree, across the Sligo landscape.
Filming of the shoot will commence on the evening of Thursday the 10th of June 2010.

SEA SESSIONS - Surf Music Festival Bundoran.

In just its 3rd year, SEA SESSIONS festival is sure to see Ireland’s surfing and festival fans flock to Bundoran, Co. Donegal for the country’s leading surf, skate and music festival.
This June the seaside resort of Bundoran will once again be alive with the sound of great tunes as festival fans descend on the town for an eclectic mix of music and surfing.
Adding to the already impressive line-up including PAUL WELLER, TOM BAXTER, FUN LOVIN CRIMINALS & DAVID HOLMES, native DJ Johnny Moy will turn tables and drop thumping club beats from the main stage on Saturday 26th. Recognised as Irelands leading DJ/promoter thoughout the nineties, Moy has been awarded many awards and accolades down the years both nationally and internationally. He has remixed tracks for U2, David Holmes and BellX1, and was personally chosen as the official tour DJ for The Chemical Brothers European Tour.
Alongside Moy, 20 year old twins The Heathers have also been confirmed to perform at this year’s Sessions. The HEATHERS are twin sisters Ellie and Louise McNamara who began writing music together in 2007. In February 2008 they recorded their debut album 'Here, Not There' which was released to much critical acclaim and current single ‘Remember When’ features on the current Discover Ireland TV and radio ad campaign. The girls can be seen in action on Sunday 27th June.

"The Carmel Gunning International Summer School Festival of Irish Music Song and Dance"
August 2nd until August 17th.
This is its eleventh year and students worldwide from places such as Zimbabwe, Sweden, Italy, England, Scotland, France, Norway, Canada, Australia,USA and of course Ireland have attended this popular school.
Classes will be held in tin whistle, flute, fiddle, bodhran, banjo, accordion, traditional guitar and traditional singing on a daily basis including lecture and irish music discussion.
Evening entertainment includes pub sessions, music and singing recitals, singers night, tutors concert, ceili and farewell session. Enrolment forms have to be returned by June 30th 2010.

The Sony Ericsson Temple House Music & Arts Festival is an eclectic micro music festival which promises to be a little bit different…
Live music from a host of Irish and international acts will be the core source of entertainment, complimented by poetry readings, face painting, holistic therapies, art exhibitions, farmers’ market, vintage clothes and jewellery fair plus a plethora of other carefully selected attractions.
The Line Up for The Sony Ericsson Temple House Festival, along with everything else about the festival promises to be a something little bit different as well. Offering the discerning music fan a mix of the best of music, both homegrown and international.
Punkpop legends, The Undertones bring their own brand of witty charm to the grounds of Temple House and Irish rock legends The Stunning are sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Electro rock five piece, New Young Pony Club are one of the international acts not to be missed along with The 202's, Donal Dineen and a host of DJ's and cutting edge electronic acts.
With other eclectic acts such as Ronan O Snodaigh, Davide Swarup, The Walls, Clampdown DJs, Motion Control and many many more.
The Sony Ericsson Temple House Festival promises to be one of the the highlights on the Irish musical calender.
