The famous statue of William Butler Yeats which was destroyed in August 2005, has been restored to its former glory and once again stands outside the Ulster Bank in Sligo’s, Stephen Street.
The statue which is a much-loved tourist attraction and focal point in the heart of Sligo Town, has seen numerous people posing to have photographs taken with the statue on a daily basis.
The bronze statue which was built by Dublin based scuptor Rowan Gillespie was erected over a decade ago as a lasting reminder to the memory of Sligo greatest poet W.B. Yeats and has become one of Sligo’s most popular tourist attractions, much loved by tourists and locals alike.
