An otherwise ordinary concrete wall adjoining the concrete steps leading from Treacy Avenue down onto Knappagh Road has been transformed into an urban art gallery by a trio of local artists.
The artists, twin brothers Kevin and Paraic McGloughlin from Knocknarea Villas and Fergal MacFadden from the Old Bundoran Road have been using cans of spray paint for a number of weeks to produce some vivid and spectacular paintings on the wall, causing many motorists who drive under the Strandhill Road railway bridge to slow down drastically for a good look.
The project, which is part of a Sligo Borough Council initiative, is the first major public display of street art in Sligo Town.
