The development company owned by Westlife star Shane Filan, and his brother, Finbarr, is planning a massive €15m retail and residential project at Carraroe.
The development is expected will provide a comprehensive state-of-the-art neighbourhood centre on the outskirts of Sligo Town, creating up to 200 jobs when it is operational.
Shafin Developments Ltd are expected to lodge a planning application with Sligo County Council in the coming weeks for eleven shops, sixty-eight apartments, substantial office space and a creche, which are to be built on a seven acre site close to the Carraroe roundabout.
A major national retail outlet has been acquired as the anchor tenant for the project, and among the other shops to be located in the new centre are a restaurant, pharmacy, a beauty salon, a medi-centre, a health and wellness centre and a substantial creche catering for up to 75 children.
The architects for the scheme are award winning local firm, Vincent Hannon Associations, who were also responsible for the Glasshouse Hotel and the nerby Swan Point Apartments complex.
